ABSTRACT: This study applies Rock-Eval 6 pyrolysis to cuttings from wells WZNW-1 and WZW-1 to assess organic richness, kerogen type, and thermal maturity in Baraka and Abu Gabra formations. Baraka contains mainly type III organic matter, while Abu Gabra contains type II to type II/III organic matter, and proposes Baraka as an additional source rock interval. Several reported Rock-Eval values and their interpretations require reconciliations before the source rock conclusions can be supported.
