Human Capital and Economic Development


Human Capital and Economic Development explores the role of knowledge, skills, education, health, innovation, and workforce capabilities in promoting economic growth and improving societal well-being. The field examines how investments in human capital influence productivity, employment, income distribution, entrepreneurship, technological advancement, and long-term economic development. It also addresses labor markets, education and training, demographic change, health economics, social mobility, inequality, and workforce development. By integrating perspectives from economics, education, management, sociology, and public policy, this field provides insights into how countries and organizations can strengthen human capabilities, enhance economic resilience, and achieve inclusive and sustainable development.
