      <abstract>
        <p>As an important component of China’s intangible cultural heritage, the international dissemination of the representative Yue Opera repertoire “The Butterfly Lovers” imposes high demands on translation quality. The dense interplay of cultural imagery, poetic expression, and musicality in the lyrics poses challenges for purely human translation, such as low efficiency and high costs; meanwhile, general-purpose AI translation systems struggle to independently handle tasks in cultural international promotion that require aesthetic judgment. This paper introduces Vermeer’s teleological approach, establishing the highest principle of international promotion translation as achieving specific communicative purposes, and on this basis, proposes a collaborative pathway that integrates cultural adaptation, AI batch generation, human multidimensional editing, and expert evaluation. Through the English translation of classic excerpts from “The Butterfly Lovers” this study explores how, guided by the principles of purpose, coherence, and faithfulness, to leverage AI’s generative capabilities in tandem with human translators’ cultural and aesthetic judgment, thereby producing translations that are both suitable for stage performance and emotionally resonant. This purpose-oriented human-AI collaboration seeks to establish an actionable balance between communicative effectiveness and artistic authenticity, offering valuable insights for the international promotion translation of traditional Chinese theater.</p>

      <title>1. 引言</title>
      <p>越剧经典剧目《梁山伯与祝英台》经常被海外观众比作“东方的罗密欧与朱丽叶”，其海外演出、宣传介绍都离不开翻译文本的支撑。与纯粹的文学翻译不同，越剧外宣翻译承担着清晰的跨文化交际任务：既要让外国观众迅速看懂剧情，还要传递唱词中的东方韵味，有时还得适配舞台字幕、唱词注音、节目单等不同文本形态。传统上由译者独自推敲的方式周期太长，很难快速应对网络短视频、现场直播等多元传播场景，而大语言模型虽然能瞬间给出译文，却往往因为文化语境理解不足而出现误译，或把唱词原有的灵动变成一种扁平化的解释。在这样两难的情况下，人机协作提供了一个可能的出路。但协作需要明确的决策逻辑，而非简单的拼接。功能主义目的论看重“目的决定手段”，刚好能帮助我们根据不同的外宣目的去调节归化、异化、直译乃至创译的比重，进而合理分配人和机器各自擅长的任务。本文试图以目的论为基本框架，探讨在AI辅助下如何为《梁山伯与祝英台》的外宣翻译搭建一条有效的人机协作路线，并通过具体译例来检验它的可行性。需要说明的是，本文属于概念性路径研究，旨在构建一个理论框架。文中的两个译例主要用于阐释协作机制的运作过程，而非证明该路径已完成最终的效果验证。</p>
    </sec>
    <sec id="sec2">
      <title>2. 目的论对戏剧外宣翻译的适用性</title>
      <p>弗米尔(Hans J. Vermeer)是德国功能主义翻译学派的代表人物，他提出的目的论(Skopos Theory)突破了传统翻译理论以“对等”为核心的框架，强调翻译行为的目的性，并提出了三项基本原则：目的原则、连贯原则和忠实原则。在目的论出现之前，翻译理论与实践大多围绕“对等”展开，即译文应在形式、内容或效果上尽可能与原文对应。但弗米尔一直强烈反对将翻译仅看作语言问题，他完全跳出对等的结构框架，发展了目的论的主要内容，他认为应首要考虑目的文本的功能，因为“翻译行为的目的决定了整个翻译过程的核心方法”[<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">1</xref>]。</p>
      <p>这三条原则中，目的原则是首要原则，连贯原则与忠实原则均需服从于翻译的核心目的。</p>
      <p>越剧外宣翻译的“目的”本身是分层的。舞台字幕最要紧的是在极短时间内让观众明白发生了什么，文字必须简洁且与画面同步。如果唱词译本打算拿来配唱，还得考虑音节数和旋律走向。至于宣传册或文化读本里的翻译，则可以适当增加注释去承载更深层的文化信息。目的论之所以适合这类翻译，正因为它允许同一段唱词因使用场景不同而呈现不同的译文面貌，不必拘泥于某种一成不变的“对等”。把目的论引入人机协作[<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>]，意味着机器可以去完成那些规则明确的任务，比如按指令生成多个变体、完成初步的信息检索，而人类译者则把精力集中在界定翻译目的、裁决文化意象的美学效果、调整唱词节奏以及做最终取舍上。这样一种分工，能让AI的效率优势在文化底线的框架内得到释放。</p>
    </sec>
    <sec id="sec3">
      <title>3.《梁山伯与祝英台》外宣翻译的困难与AI翻译的局限</title>
      <p>《梁山伯与祝英台》唱词将民歌的清新与文言的凝练混合在一起，像“鸳鸯”“碧草青青”“长亭”这类文化负载物密集出现，“贤弟”“愚兄”等称谓也包含了特定的时代与人际关系信息。纯人工翻译时，译者常常在语义完整与节奏轻盈之间左支右绌：为了把意思讲清楚，字幕容易变得冗长，而为了配合音乐，又不得不牺牲一些诗味。人工翻译时为求语义完整，字幕容易变得冗长；如果为了配合音乐而简化，就难免损害唱词原有的诗味。译者在舞台呈现效果与文本忠实度之间经常陷入顾此失彼的困境，这本身就是越剧外宣翻译中一个反复出现的难点。</p>
      <p>AI翻译的第一轮输出有速度优势，语言也通常流畅，但直接拿去用于外宣，容易出现几个突出问题：文化意象被处理得过于浅白，像把“化蝶”直接译为“turn into butterflies”，失去了蜕变与升华的象征意味；称呼语的时代语感被忽略，“英台”被简单替换为名字，打乱了原有的人际含蓄感；整段译文音节数凌乱，不具备入乐的可能。从这些情况可以看出，机器尚不能独立完成以美感和情感沟通为核心的外宣任务，协作过程里必须由人来把控目的并做审美的再度创造[<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">3</xref>]。</p>
    </sec>
    <sec id="sec4">
      <title>4. 目的论指导下的人机协作翻译路径</title>
      <p>在目的论三原则的框架下，可以设计一条分步协作的路线，大致涵盖四个环节。</p>
      <p>第一个环节是文化预适应。译者针对当前外宣任务(舞台字幕、节目单、短视频文本等)先明确翻译目的，从原文里挑出那些需要特别处理的文化概念。这个过程可以利用AI做知识检索和背景梳理，生成对“十八相送”双关意味、梁祝情感觉察等内容的说明卡片，最终形成一份简明的翻译纲要，把目的、读者期待和风格基调固定下来。</p>
      <p>第二个环节是AI辅助生成。人工依照翻译纲要拟定精确的提示指令，让AI输出多个在策略上彼此差异化的译文，比如接近字面的直译版、满足字幕时长限制的短句版、兼顾押韵的双行体、偏向高度归化的版本。这个阶段人工不急于修改，而是把AI当作快速产出不同草案的工具，先收集选项。</p>
      <p>第三个环节是多维编辑。译者从众多AI草案里选出或重新组合出合适的片段，再深入到词句层面加工。在连贯原则下，主要关注英文表达的自然度；在忠实原则下，重点核查关键文化意象是否传达出了原文的核心意味，而不是字面上的对应。还可以用AI进行反向翻译核查，或让AI为个别表达提供近义方案来优化节奏。在这个环节里，唱词的音节数和韵脚调整仍然主要依赖人的乐感，译者会边默唱边删改，这是机器目前难以同步做到的[<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>]。</p>
      <p>最后是专家评估与反馈。邀请戏曲研究者和英语母语者依据最初设定的外宣目的去检验译文接受度，反馈意见还能重新提交给AI进行迭代优化。整个流程里，目的论一直充当取舍的最终参照。</p>
    </sec>
    <sec id="sec5">
      <title>5. 英译实例分析</title>
      <p>为清晰呈现人机协作过程，本节所用AI初译均由DeepSeek生成。提示词设定为：“请将以下越剧唱词翻译为英文，要求语言流畅，适合舞台字幕。”人工修改则在此基础上，依据目的论三原则，对文化意象、节奏韵律及情感表达进行深度优化。</p>
      <p>以“十八相送”中这段唱词为例：</p>
      <p>青青荷叶清水塘，鸳鸯成对又成双。</p>
      <p>梁兄啊！英台若是女红妆，梁兄你愿不愿配鸳鸯？</p>
      <p>翻译场景设定为舞台字幕，要求观众在几秒之内看懂，句子要短，但还得保留祝英台那种含蓄的试探和羞怯，并让“鸳鸯”这一代表爱情的意象在场，不另加注释。</p>
      <p>AI初始译文之一：</p>
      <p>Green lotus leaves on the clear pond,</p>
      <p>Mandarin ducks are in pairs, forming a bond.</p>
      <p>Brother Liang, if Yingtai were a lady fair,</p>
      <p>Would you be willing to pair with me there?</p>
      <p>人工修改时，可先从目的原则出发审视：这版译文大致可唱，但“pair with me there”有些生硬，“forming a bond”未能传递“成又成双”里那种带着俏皮意味的叠韵感。随后进入连贯原则下的编辑：将前两行的画面语序调得更顺畅，并让“配鸳鸯”的暗喻浮在词面上。过程中可以再用AI生成“lovebird”“mate”等归化选项作为备选，但最终使用“mandarin ducks”，并以“pair”一词来建立联想，观众结合舞台画面可以自然理解。忠实原则核查时，重点放在“英台若是女红妆”上，这一句暗含“我本为女子”的弦外之音，译文需要带有暗示性而不直接说破。调整后的译文为：</p>
      <p>Green lotus leaves, a clear pond gleams,</p>
      <p>Mandarin ducks pair, lost in dreams.</p>
      <p>Dear Brother Liang, if I were a bride-to-be,</p>
      <p>Would you then be paired with me?</p>
      <p>“pair”在同一段里出现两次，形成了语义回环；“bride-to-be”既隐指女性身份，又暗含婚配的指向，比“lady fair”更有戏剧推力；“lost in dreams”是人为添加的情绪色彩，契合外宣中对美感的追求。整体修改并不耗时，却让译文从信息准确层进入了情感触动层[<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">5</xref>]。</p>
      <p>再来看“楼台会”中的一句：</p>
      <p>我与你梁兄难成对，爹爹之命不能违。</p>
      <p>AI初译：I cannot be your wife, Liang, my father’s order I cannot defy. 使用场景为晚会诵读字幕，需要更强的抒情浓度。译者可从目的原则出发，着力突出“难成对”的无力感，可把句子重写为：We two can never be one, as father’s word stands as stone.“one”和“stone”形成腹韵，“stands as stone”来自人工创意，操作中曾让AI提供有关“父命不可违”的比喻方案，最后从“iron wall”“mountain”等选项中挑出“stone”来押韵。这种在人与机器之间快速来回、选优组合的节奏，正是整个协作路线的一个缩影[<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">6</xref>]。</p>
    </sec>
    <sec id="sec6">
      <title>6. 结语</title>
      <p>目的论为AI参与越剧外宣翻译提供了一个清晰的决策框架：翻译目的由人来界定，译文变体由机器批量生成，审美判断和责任归属则依然留在译者手上。在《梁山伯与祝英台》英译的实践中，这条路线让译者不必再逐字苦吟，而可以像拿着目的罗盘的编导一样，调动AI去快速试错、拼合，最终得到既能跨越文化障碍又不失越剧本真韵味的译文。随着AI对戏曲声腔和节奏的学习能力逐步增强，这种人机协作很可能会延伸到配乐填词、沉浸式字幕生成等领域。但无论技术如何迭代，以跨文化沟通为指向的人本精神，始终是外宣翻译不能丢弃的内核。</p>

      <p>AI赋能下越剧外宣翻译的人机协作路径研究——以《梁山伯与祝英台》为例</p>
      <p>摘要：越剧作为中国非物质文化遗产的重要组成，其代表剧目《梁山伯与祝英台》的海外传播对翻译质量有很高要求。唱词中密集的文化意象、诗化表达与音乐性的交织，让纯人工翻译面临效率低、成本高的问题，而通用人工智能翻译又很难独立完成文化外宣中那些需要审美判断的工作。本文引入弗米尔的目的论，将外宣翻译的最高准则设定为完成特定交际目的，并在此基础上构想出一条将文化适应、AI批量生成、人工多维编辑与专家评估串联起来的协作路线。结合《梁山伯与祝英台》经典唱段的英译，讨论如何在目的原则、连贯原则和忠实原则的引导下，让AI的生成能力与人类译者的文化审美判断相互配合，产出既便于舞台呈现又具感染力的译文。这种以目的为导向的人机协作，试图在传播效果与艺术真实之间寻得一种可操作的平衡，为传统戏剧外宣翻译提供有益参考。</p>
