  In this paper, our focus is to introduce and investigate a class of mappings called 
  <em>M-</em>asymmetric irresolute multifunctions defined between bitopological structural sets satisfying certain minimal properties. 
  <em>M</em>-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions are point-to-set mappings defined using 
  <em>M</em>-asymmetric semiopen and semiclosed sets. Some relations between 
  <em>M</em>-asymmetric semicontinuous multifunctions and 
  <em>M</em>-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions are established. This notion of 
  <em>M</em>-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions is analog to that of irresolute multifunctions in the general topological space and, upper and lower 
  <em>M</em>-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions in minimal bitopological spaces, but mathematically behaves differently.

Introduction</title><p>The concept of a continuous function in topological spaces and multifunction continuity of a basic concept in the theory of classical point set topology have received considerable attention by several authors not only in the field of functional analysis but also in other branches of applied sciences such as mathematical economics, control theory and fuzzy topology. With regard to this, several scholars have generalized the notion of continuity in (bi-) topological spaces by use of more weaker forms of open and closed sets called semiopen and semiclosed sets: [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref1">1</xref>] - [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>].</p><p>The fundamental notion of semiopen sets and continuity of functions on such sets was introduced by Levine [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref4">4</xref>] in the realm of topological spaces. These concepts have then been generalized to bitopological spaces by Maheshwari and Prasad [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref5">5</xref>], and as well by Bose [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref10">10</xref>]. Berge [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref11">11</xref>] on the other hand introduced the notion of upper and lower continuous multifunctions and lately, the concept got generalized to bitopological spaces by Popa [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref6">6</xref>], in which he investigated how multifunctions preserved the conserving properties of connectedness, compactness and paracompactness between bitopological spaces.</p><p>Noiri and Popa [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref12">12</xref>] in 2000, investigated the notions of upper (lower) continuous multifunction and M-continuous function deal to Berge [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref11">11</xref>] and, Popa and Noiri [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref8">8</xref>] respectively, and extended these notions to upper and lower M-continuous multifunctions. They observed that, upper (lower) continuous multifunctions have properties similar to those of upper (lower) continuous functions and multifunctions between topological spaces. Recently, Matindih and Moyo [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] have generalized the ideas of [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref12">12</xref>] and studied upper and lower M-asymmetric semicontinuous multifunctions from which they showed that, semicontinuous multifunctions have quasi-properties to those for upper and lower continuous functions and M-continuous multifunctions between topological spaces, with the only difference that, the semiopen sets in use are bitopologgically structured.</p><p>Irresolute mappings, quasi to continuity on the other hand, have received considerable attention by various scholars. This notion of irresolute functions and their fundamental properties were first introduced and investigated in 1972 by Crossley and Hildebrand [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref3">3</xref>]. They showed that, irresolute functions are not necessarily continuous and neither are continuous functions necessarily irresolute. As a generalization to this idea, Ewert and Lipski [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref13">13</xref>], then studied the concept of upper and lower irresolute multivalued mappings, followed by Popa [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref14">14</xref>] who looked at some characterizations of upper and lower irresolute multifunctions. Popa in [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref1">1</xref>] further extended his investigation to studying the structural properties and relationship of irresolute multifunctions to continuous functions and multifunctions in topological spaces. As a generalization to Popa’s [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref14">14</xref>] idea, Matindih et al. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref2">2</xref>] have recently studied upper and lower M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions in bitopologgical spaces with sets satisfying certain minimal structures. They clearly showed that, upper and lower M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions have properties similar to those of upper and lower irresolute multifunctions [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref1">1</xref>] defined between topological spaces. Further, with the aid of counter examples, it was shown that, upper and lower M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions are respectively upper and lower M-asymmetric semicontinuous; however, the converse was not in general true.</p><p>In this present paper, we introduce and investigate the notion of M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions as an extension from Matindih et al., [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref2">2</xref>] and, a generalization of results by Popa [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref1">1</xref>].</p><p>Our paper is organized as follows: Section 2 presents necessary concepts concerning semiopen sets, m-asymmetric semiopen sets and upper and lower M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref2">2</xref>]. In Section 3, we present and discuss characterizations of M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions defined between bitopological spaces with sets satisfying certain minimal structure. Section 4 gives concluding remarks.</p></sec><sec id="s2"><title>2. Preliminaries and Basic Properties</title><p>We present in this section some properties and notations to be used throughout this paper. For more details, we refer the reader to ( [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref2">2</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref5">5</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref6">6</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref7">7</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref10">10</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref12">12</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref14">14</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref15">15</xref>]).</p><p>By a bitopological space ( X , T 1 , T 2 ) , we mean a nonempty set X on which are defined two topologies T 1 and T 2 . The concept was first introduced by Kelly [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref15">15</xref>]. In the sequel, ( X , T 1 , T 2 ) or in short X will denote a bitopological space unless clearly stated. For a bitopological space ( X , T i , T j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j , we shall denote the interior and closure of a subset A of X with respect to the topology T i = T j by I n t T i ( A ) and C l T i ( A ) respectively.</p><p>Definition 2.1. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref10">10</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref15">15</xref>] Let ( X , T i , T j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j be a bitopological space and A be any nonvoid subset of X.</p><p>1) A is said to be T i T j -open if A ∈ T i ∪ T j ; i.e., A = A i ∪ A j where A i ∈ T i and A j ∈ T j . The complement of an T i T j -open set is a T i T j -closed set.</p><p>2) The T i T j -interior of A denoted by I n t T i ( I n t T j ( A ) ) (or T i T j - I n t ( A ) ) is the union of all T i T j -open subsets of X contained in A. Evidently, if A = I n t T i ( I n t T j ( A ) ) , then A is T i T j -open.</p><p>3) The T i T j -closure of A denoted by C l T i ( C l T j ( A ) ) is defined to be the intersection of all T i T j -closed subsets of X containing A. Observe that asymmetrically, C l T i ( C l T j ( A ) ) ⊆ C l T i ( A ) and C l T i ( C l T j ( A ) ) ⊆ C l T j ( A ) .</p><p>Definition 2.2. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref5">5</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref10">10</xref>] Let ( X , T i , T j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j be a bitopological space and, let A and B be non-void subsets of X.</p><p>1) A is said to be T i T j -semiopen in X provided there is a T i -open subset O of X such that O ⊆ A ⊆ C l T j ( O ) , equivalently A ⊆ C l T j ( I n t T i ( A ) ) . It’s complement is said to be T i T j -semiclosed.</p><p>2) The T i T j -semiinterior of A denoted by T i T j - s I n t ( A ) is defined to be the union of T i T j -semiopen subsets of X contained in A. The T i T j -semiclosure of A denoted by T i T j - s C l ( A ) , is the intersection of all T i T j -semiclosed sets of X containing A.</p><p>3) B is said to be a T i T j -semi-neighbourhood of a point x ∈ X provided there is a T i T j -semiopen subset O of X such that x ∈ O ⊆ B .</p><p>The family of all T i T j -semiopen and T i T j -semiclosed subsets of X will be denote by T i T j s O ( X ) and T i T j s C ( X ) respectively.</p><p>Definition 2.3. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref7">7</xref>] [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref12">12</xref>] A subfamily m<sub>X</sub> of a power set P ( X ) of a nonevoid set X is said to be a minimal structure (briefly m-structure) on X if both ∅ and X lies in m<sub>X</sub>.</p><p>The pair ( X , m X ) is called an m-space and the members of ( X , m X ) are said to be m<sub>X</sub>-open sets.</p><p>Definition 2.4. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] Let ( X , T i , T j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j be a bitopological space and m<sub>X</sub> a minimal structure on X generated with respect to m<sub>i</sub> and m<sub>j</sub>. An ordered pair ( ( X , T i , T j ) , m X ) is called a minimal bitopological space.</p><p>As our minimal structure m<sub>X</sub> on X is determined by the two minimal structures m<sub>i</sub> and m<sub>j</sub>, i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j generated by the two topologies T i and T j respectively, we shall denote it in the sense of Matindih and Moyo [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] by m<sub>ij</sub>(X) (or simply m<sub>ij</sub>) and call the pair ( ( X , T i , T j ) , m i j ) (or ( X , m i j ) ) a minimal bitopological space unless explicitly defined.</p><p>Definition 2.5. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] A minimal structure m<sub>X</sub> on a bitoplogical space ( X , T i , T j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j ; is said to have property ( B ) in the sense of Maki [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref7">7</xref>] if the union of any collection of m<sub>ij</sub>(X)-open subsets of X belongs to m<sub>X</sub>.</p><p>Definition 2.6. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] Let ( X , m i j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j be a minimal bitopological space and A a subset of X. A is said to be:</p><p>1) m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen in X if there exists an m<sub>i</sub>-open set O such that O ⊆ A ⊆ C l m j ( O ) , that is, A ⊆ C l m j ( I n t m i ( A ) ) .</p><p>2) m<sub>ij</sub>-closed in X if there exists an m<sub>i</sub>-open set O such that C l m j ( A ) ⊆ O whenever A ⊆ O , that is, I n t m j ( C l m i ( A ) ) ⊆ A or equivalently, there exists an m<sub>i</sub>-closed set K in X such that I n t m j ( K ) ⊆ A ⊆ K .</p><p>We shall denote the collection of all m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen and m<sub>ij</sub>-semiclosed sets in ( X , m i j ) by m i j s O ( X ) and m i j s C ( X ) respectively.</p><p>Remark 2.7. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] Let ( X , m i j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j be a minimal bitopological space.</p><p>1) if m i = T i and m j = T j , the any m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen set is T i T j -semiopen.</p><p>2) every m<sub>ij</sub>-open (resp. m<sub>ij</sub>-closed) set is m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen (resp. m<sub>ij</sub>-semiclosed), but the converse is not generally true, see Examples 3.5 [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>].</p><p>The m<sub>ij</sub>-open sets and the m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen sets are generally not stable for the union condition. However, for certain m<sub>ij</sub>-structures, the class of m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen sets are stable under union of sets as in the Lemma below:</p><p>Lemma 2.8. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] Let ( X , m i j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j be an m<sub>ij</sub>-space and { A γ : γ ∈ Γ } be a family of subsets of X. It should be generally noted that, the intersection of any two m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen sets may not be m<sub>ij</sub>-semiopen in a minimal bitopological space ( X , m i j ) , as Example 3.9 of [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] illustrates.</p><p>Definition 2.10. [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="scirp.119182-ref9">9</xref>] Let ( X , m i j ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j be an m<sub>ij</sub>-space and let O be a subset of X. Some Characterization on M-Asymmetric Irresolute Multifunctions</title><p>We now study a special kind of Asymmetric-multifunction F for which the inverse image of any m<sub>ij</sub>-asymmetric semiopen set under F is as well an m<sub>ii</sub>-asymmetric semiopen set.</p><p>Definition 3.1. A multifunction F : ( ( X , T i , T j ) , m i j ( X ) ) → ( ( Y , Q i , Q j ) , m i j ( Y ) ) i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j , between bitopological spaces X and Y having certain minimal conditions is said to be M-Asymmetric irresolute at a point x o ∈ X if for any m<sub>ij</sub>(Y)-semiopen sets H<sub>1</sub> and H<sub>2</sub> such that H 1 ⊇ F ( x o ) and H 2 ∩ F ( x o ) ≠ ∅ , there exists an m<sub>ij</sub>(X)-semiopen set O containing x<sub>o</sub> such that H 1 ⊇ F ( O ) and H 2 ∩ F ( x ) ≠ ∅ for every x ∈ O .</p><p>The multifunction F is M-Asymmetric irresolute if it is M-Asymmetric irresolute at every point x o ∈ X .</p><p>Remark 3.2. Clearly, we can noted that, provided a multifunction is both upper and lower M-Asymmetric irresolute, then it is M-asymmetric irresolute and vice-versa, as we illustrate in Example 3.3 below.</p><p>Example 3.3. Clearly, F is M-asymmetric irresolute at a ∈ X and hence, is both upper and lower M-asymmetric irresolute.</p><p>Indeed, F ( a ) ⊆ { − 1,2,3 } ∈ m i j s O ( Y ) and F ( a ) ∩ { − 3,1,3 } ≠ ∅ for the m<sub>ij</sub>(Y)-semiopen sets { − 1,2,3 } and { − 3,1,3 } whence, F ( { a } ) ⊂ { − 1,2,3 } and F ( { a } ) ∩ { − 3,1,3 } ≠ ∅ . This also holds for some m<sub>ij</sub>(X)-semiopen sets containing c and f respectively.</p><p>We now discuss some characterizations of M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions and look at some of the relationship to.</p><p>Theorem 3.4. A multifunction F : ( ( X , T i , T j ) , m i j ( X ) ) → ( ( Y , Q i , Q j ) , m i j ( Y ) ) , i , j = 1 , 2 ; i ≠ j for which ( ( Y , Q i , Q j ) , m i j ( Y ) ) satisfies property B , is said to be M-asymmetric irresolute at some point x<sub>o</sub> of X if and only if for any m<sub>ij</sub>(Y)-semiopen sets H<sub>1</sub> and H<sub>2</sub> such that H 1 ⊇ F ( x o ) and H 2 ∩ F ( x o ) ≠ ∅ , there holds the relation:</p><p>x o ∈ C l m j ( I n t m i ( F + ( H 1 ) ∩ F − ( H 2 ) ) ) .</p><p>Proof. By Definition 2.10 (iii) and Lemma 2.14, there exists an m<sub>ij</sub>(X)-semiopen neighborhood O of x<sub>o</sub> such that x o ∈ O ⊆ F + ( H 1 ) ∩ F − ( H 2 ) . Since the sets H<sub>1</sub> and H<sub>2</sub> are m<sub>ij</sub>(Y)-semiopen, we have F ( O ) ⊆ H 1 ⊆ C l m j ( I n t m i ( H 1 ) ) and H 2 ∩ F ( x ) ≠ ∅ for all x ∈ O . Because O is m<sub>ij</sub>(X)-semiopen, we infer F to be an M-asymmetric irresolute multifunction at a point x<sub>o</sub> of X.</p><p>For sufficiency, suppose F is an M-asymmetric irresolute multifunction at a point x<sub>o</sub> of X, let H<sub>1</sub> and H<sub>2</sub> be any m<sub>ij</sub>(Y)-semiopen sets such that H 1 ⊇ F ( x o ) and H 2 ∩ F ( x o ) ≠ ∅ . By Definition 3.1, there exists an m<sub>ij</sub>(X)-semiopen set O with x 2 ∈ O for which H 1 ⊇ F ( O ) and for all x ∈ O , H 2 ∩ F ( x ) ≠ ∅ . For necessity, let, { O x o } be a family of all m<sub>ij</sub>(X)-open neighbourhoods of a point x<sub>o</sub>. Theorem 3.5 clearly, indicates that, every M-asymmetric irresolute multifunction is generally M-asymmetric semi-continuous however, the converse is nor generally true, as we shall see in Example 3.7 and Example 3.8 respectively.</p><p>Example 3.7. Conclusion</title><p>In this paper, a class of mappings called M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions defined between bitopological structural sets satisfying certain minimal properties were introduced and investigated. M-asymmetric irresolute multifunctions were point-to-set mappings defined using M-asymmetric semiopen and semiclosed sets.
