  ABSTRACT: With the influx of world well-known management consulting enterprises after China’s joining WTO and the weakness of Chinese management consulting enterprises, it has become an urgent issue for the local enterprises on how to survive and develop under such intense competition circumstances. According to competence theory and the characteristics of Chinese management consulting enterprises, this study structures an evaluation index system including 3 steps and 23 specific indexes, and based on BP neural network, the paper puts forward a method which provides a theoretical guidance for management consulting enterprises to evaluate their status in the market and also to seek ways to improve their competence effectively.
