  ABSTRACT: Experiments and simulations demonstrate that an SOA-based ring cavity can operate as a tunable laser, wavelength- swept laser or Fourier-domain-mode-locking laser according to the relation between the roundtrip frequency and the sweeping frequency of the filter.
