ABSTRACT: Role of Bariatric surgery for obesity is briefly outlined. Selection criteria, contraindications, evaluations of patients before surgery, types of bariatric surgery with their merits and demerits are discussed. Results of lifestyle modifications is compared with that of bariatric surgery.
