ABSTRACT: Psychological dysfunction in post-intensive care syndrome-family (PICS-F) severely impairs family caregivers’ capacity and patients’ recovery process, and has become a research hotspot in the field of critical care. This article provides a comprehensive narrative review of PICS-F psychological dysfunction, focusing on its clinical characteristics, influencing factors, early identification and screening. It also synthesizes relevant nursing intervention strategies for family members during patients’ hospitalization and after discharge, with the aim of providing a reference for the psychological care of family members of critically ill patients.
