ABSTRACT: Throughout centuries of scientific inquiry, the phenomenon of inertia has lacked a clear and convincing explanation. The origin and nature of the resistance that material bodies offer against changes in their state of motion—whether in speed, direction, or both—have remained undetermined. This paper proposes a plausible explanation for this phenomenon, demonstrating that interactions between bodies inherently involve a force. For an interaction to induce acceleration, the force must act on the body, which requires the body to possess its own field. Ultimately, a superposition of fields occurs, generating a pressure differential. One of the pressures within this differential constitutes the inertial force, which consistently manifests as a counter-pressure opposing the effective acceleration exerted on the body. This analysis focuses on a charged body, given that neutral material bodies generally possess both positive and negative electric charges.
