ABSTRACT: Background: In an era characterized by unprecedented market volatility, technological disruption, and geopolitical instability, organizations face mounting challenges in managing business uncertainty. Traditional risk management approaches, often reliant on historical data and static models, prove inadequate for navigating contemporary dynamic business environments. Predictive analytics, powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, has emerged as a transformative capability for anticipating risks, optimizing decisions, and building organizational resilience. Objective: This study investigates the role of predictive analytics in managing business uncertainty through a comprehensive mixed-methods approach. Specifically, it examines how organizations leverage predictive analytics technologies, the mechanisms through which these technologies reduce uncertainty, the organizational capabilities required for effective implementation, and the outcomes achieved in terms of decision quality, risk mitigation, and competitive advantage. Methods: This research employs a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative phase involved a structured survey of 312 business executives and analytics professionals across multiple industries, measuring predictive analytics adoption, organizational capabilities, uncertainty management practices, and performance outcomes. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling and hierarchical regression. The qualitative phase comprised 28 semi-structured interviews with senior decision-makers and analytics leaders, analyzed through thematic analysis to explore implementation experiences, challenges, and strategic implications. Results: Quantitative findings reveal that predictive analytics adoption significantly reduces perceived business uncertainty (β = −0.47, p p Conclusion: Predictive analytics represents a paradigm shift in managing business uncertainty, enabling organizations to transition from reactive to anticipatory management approaches. However, realizing its full potential requires not only technological investment but also fundamental organizational transformation, including cultural change, capability development, and ethical governance. This study contributes to theory by integrating resource-based view, dynamic capabilities theory, and decision theory to explain how predictive analytics creates competitive advantage under uncertainty. Practical implications include actionable frameworks for implementation, capability development roadmaps, and governance recommendations.
