ABSTRACT: Digital technology innovation is the driving force for green consumption upgrading, and also the basic driving force for realizing the goal of “dual carbon” and the common development of domestic demand growth. Different from general green consumption, the upgrading of green consumption belongs to the transformation of consumption thought, consumption form and even the whole consumption system towards low carbon. Digital technology can optimize the green supply chain, alleviate information congestion, and promote low-carbon consumption in a measurable way, which positively contributes to green consumption at both the demand and supply ends, but cannot completely avoid the limiting factors such as green-washing, consumption rebound or digital divide. This paper summarizes the existing research in China and abroad, explains the main concepts and theoretical basis, discusses the core role of digital technology innovation in green consumption upgrading, analyzes the current empirical results and knowledge gaps, and puts forward possible directions for future research. It focuses on the internal connection between digital technology and green consumption, and provides theoretical and research references for how to use digital means to promote the green transformation of household consumption.
