ABSTRACT: Fermi formulated the theory of the weak interaction to explain the beta decay assuming four fermions interacting at the vertex of the Feynman diagram [1]. This paper proposes an alternative way to concern this topic: it assumes since the beginning the existence of massive force carriers, charged and neutral, regarded as fingerprints of the interaction. Next simple considerations explain the existence of these force carriers with the help of the quantum uncertainty.
