ABSTRACT: Sissingué is located in northern Côte d’Ivoire within the Syama-Boundiali greenstone belt, a Paleoproterozoic segment of the West African Craton that hosts several structurally controlled gold systems. This paper reassesses the petro-structural and metallogenic controls on Sissingué mineralization using drill-core logging, petrographic and metallographic observations, collar and survey data, assay categories, selected numerical Au intervals, structural measurements, interpreted sections, and recent district-scale information. The drilled sequence is dominated by metaconglomerate, metasandstone, and metasiltstone intruded by granite, granodiorite, microgranite, and feldspar-porphyritic microgranite. Mineralization is preferentially associated with felsic intrusive rocks, intrusive contacts, and quartz-carbonate veins, although metasedimentary rocks are locally mineralized where they are altered and structurally prepared. The main ore-related assemblage is quartz-carbonate-sericite, with fine-grained pyrite and arsenopyrite as the principal sulfides. Structural data indicate a first-order NNE-SSW to NE-SW regional shear framework, overprinted by local NNW-SSE to N-S intrusive and vein trends. The highest-grade intervals are best explained by the intersection of favorable host rocks, reactivated structures, quartz-carbonate veining, and arsenopyrite-bearing alteration. Sissingué is therefore interpreted as a hydrothermal Birimian gold system controlled by both regional shear architecture and deposit-scale lithological and structural traps.
