ABSTRACT: This study explored the role of Avante Garde Fashion in shaping contemporary clothing styles through experimentation and innovation. The objectives of the study were to explore techniques and experimental approaches used in Avante Garde design, study the impact of experimenting with form, fabric, and construction, and to examine the influence of Avante Garde designers in shaping global fashion trends. “Global Fashion Trends is the evolution of styles and designs in fashion and becoming popular worldwide.” A qualitative analysis approach was used to examine techniques such as deconstruction, zero-waste pattern cutting, 3D garment construction, and material experimentation. The result found that Avante Garde fashion challenges traditional design boundaries and transforms garments into conceptual and artistic expressions. Experimentation with silhouettes, unconventional materials, and innovative construction methods drives aesthetic, functional, and sustainable innovation. Most of the Japanese designers globally, such as Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, and Iris van Herpen, have significantly influenced global fashion by redefining beauty and promoting individuality. The study concluded that Avante Garde fashion acts as a transformative force, shaping the future of fashion through creativity, sustainability, and innovation.
