  ABSTRACT: Shaanxi is rich in cultural and tourism resources and attracts a steady stream of foreign visitors. The Shaanxi History Museum is therefore an important vehicle for the overseas dissemination of Shaanxi culture and for constructing the image of Shaanxi. Based on thick translation theory, this paper analyzes the English translations of the museum’s interpretive texts from three dimensions—cultural context, cultural explanation, and deeper connotation. It identifies current shortcomings in translation and aims to help overseas audiences gain a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural lineage of the Qin region, thereby promoting Shaanxi culture more effectively.
