ABSTRACT: Objective: To investigate the effects of the flipped classroom health education model based on the WeChat platform on disease knowledge mastery, adherence to anti-osteoporosis treatment, and the incidence of re-fracture in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) undergoing percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP). Methods: A total of 100 OVCF patients who received PVP treatment in our hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group (conventional health education) and an observation group (WeChat platform-based flipped classroom health education), with 50 cases in each group. Disease knowledge scores, adherence to anti-osteoporosis medication (assessed using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8, MMAS-8), re-fracture incidence, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively. Results: At each postoperative time point, the observation group showed significantly higher levels of disease knowledge mastery and treatment adherence than the control group (P Conclusion: The flipped classroom health education model based on the WeChat platform can effectively improve disease cognition and adherence to anti-osteoporosis treatment in OVCF patients, thereby reducing the risk of re-fracture. It is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
