ABSTRACT: Adenoid cystic carcinoma, a common malignant tumor of the salivary glands, is characterized by its significant invasiveness, high recurrence rate, and frequent distant metastasis, especially to the lungs. The intricate mechanisms driving its metastasis currently lack specific therapeutic interventions, thus adversely affecting patient outcomes. Recent progress in molecular biology techniques has spurred numerous studies exploring the pivotal molecules and signaling pathways implicated in lung metastasis of adenoid cystic carcinoma. These investigations offer crucial insights into the metastatic processes and support the advancement of innovative targeted treatments. This review article delves into the molecular mechanisms associated with lung metastasis in adenoid cystic carcinoma.
