ABSTRACT: Taking the mortise-and-tenon structure in Chinese Buddhist architecture as an example, this study explores in depth the translation strategies for terms related to the mortise-and-tenon structure in Chinese Buddhist architecture. Through an analysis of relevant terms, the study proposes translation strategies including literal translation and transliteration with annotations, and illustrates them with specific cases. The aim is to provide a reference for the study of translating Chinese Buddhist architectural terms and thereby promote the international dissemination of Chinese Buddhist architectural culture.
