ABSTRACT: It is now well understood that Arctic regions are warming more rapidly than other areas of Earth. Cloud formation and levels of supercooling of water droplets in clouds might be thought vulnerable to such change. We discuss here the lack of affect the highest temperature reached by the droplets has on the supercooling ability and so show that the warming Arctic is unable to affect the actual freezing temperature of clouds, at a given level of supercooling and so with a given level of nucleation site(s).
