ABSTRACT: The first work There’s Still Tomorrow by Italian director Paola Cortellesi is set in Italy in 1946 after the war. It centers on Delia, a working-class housewife, and her struggle for survival under patriarchal oppression. Through narrative techniques such as black humor and surrealism, the film explores women’s awakening, intergenerational resistance, and the isomorphic relationship between women and the destiny of the nation. Integrating the tradition of Italian neorealism with innovative expression, the film addresses heavy themes with a light touch, embedding individual narratives into grand history. It proves that “humor is a serious weapon” and presents an alternative path for feminism beyond “Nora leaving home,” offering a new paradigm for feminist cinema.
