ABSTRACT: Introduction: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common hematologic complication during pregnancy, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and adherence to Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose in improving hemoglobin (Hb) levels in pregnant women with IDA in Angola. Methods: A prospective, interventional, multicenter study was conducted in 3 healthcare centres in Angola. Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose syrup (Hemoforce Gravida®) was used. A total of 200 pregnant women were recruited; however, 11 were lost to follow-up.
