ABSTRACT: Objective: To examine the influence of moral distress on nurses work alienation and provide evidence for nursing manager. Methods: A total of 842 nurse from two tertiary level hospital in Wuhan city were investigated with the Chinese version Moral Distress Scale-revised (MDS-R) and nurses work alienation Scale by convenience sampling, the relationship of moral distress and nurses work alienation were analyzed. Results: The total score of moral distress was (48.31 ± 24.14), the total score of nurses work alienation was (30.18 ± 9.23). The results of the univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the scores of work alienation among nurses of different departments, professional titles, and positions (P Conclusion: Nursing managers should focus on the causes of moral distress of nurses, and take active and effective measures to reduce the level of nurses work alienation, improving the job satisfaction of nurse and the quality of nursing work.
