ABSTRACT: This cross-sectional study examined the attitudes of pedagogical university students and teachers toward the problem of suicide and suicidal behavior among young people, as well as the manifestation of suicidal tendencies in adolescents of grades 10 - 11 at the Lyceum of Information Technologies. The results indicate that pre-service teachers are insufficiently informed about the prerequisites of suicidal behavior and the possibilities and methods of its primary prevention among young people. Psychological signs of suicidal tendencies were identified among lyceum students, with a higher prevalence in girls compared to boys. Identification of certain psychological characteristics of adolescents that disrupt the interaction between the individual and their immediate social environment can serve as an important basis for teachers in implementing primary prevention of suicidal behavior.
