  ABSTRACT: The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a critical stabilizer of the knee joint, and its injury is highly prevalent in sports and daily activities, often leading to long-term joint dysfunction and osteoarthritis (OA) if not managed properly. This review synthesizes evidence from 25 key studies to systematically explore the injury causes of the ACL, its molecular structural characteristics, and evidence-based postoperative rehabilitation protocols. By integrating findings from basic science, clinical trials, and cohort studies, this review aims to provide a comprehensive reference for orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine specialists, and rehabilitation clinicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation management of ACL injuries.
