  ABSTRACT: We investigate the isothermal limit of entropy solutions for isentropic Euler equations with a special source term. It is shown that the L ∞ entropy solutions of the isentropic Euler equations converge strongly to the corresponding entropy solutions of the isothermal Euler equations as the adiabatic exponent γ→1 . The proof is based on the homogeneous case which is achieved by combining the entropy analysis and refined kinetic formulation with compensated compactness framework. We apply a maximum principle to obtain the uniform estimates with respect to γ for both density and momentum.
