ABSTRACT: The article analyzes the features of agribusiness in Uzbekistan as a sub-branch of entrepreneurial law and an integral part of the agro-industrial complex. The author reveals that despite the widespread practical use of the scientific contamination “agribusiness”, it is still not regulated in legislation. Conditionally dividing the current legislation into three stages, the author analyzes the legal features of the formation and development of national agribusiness at various stages of economic reforms. The Uzbek practice of conducting agribusiness has its own peculiarities, which consist in an attempt to link the requirements of a market economy with outdated management approaches. The ban on the privatization of agricultural land, the priority position of agro-industrial clusters over other agribusiness entities, and attempts by the state to control the activities of major agricultural producers through land ownership prevent the full implementation of market mechanisms in agribusiness. The unsatisfactory state of legal education in the agricultural sector further worsens the situation of agribusiness. Based on this, the author proposes to adopt laws “On agriculture” and “On the activities of agro-clusters”, which would fill the existing legal gap related to agribusiness and regulate residual phenomena in relations involving agro-clusters.
