ABSTRACT: The relationship between classical and quantum statistical mechanics is considered in the issue of the irreversibility of evolutionary processes described using the formalism of wave functions, Wigner functions, and distribution functions, which are solutions of kinetic equations. It is shown that the dynamics of multiparticle systems with increasing entropy is significantly related to the assumptions of locality of interactions.
