ABSTRACT: This article reviews the current knowledge on venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with colorectal cancer during the perioperative period, systematically explores the risk factors influencing the development of VTE before, during, and after surgery, and summarizes the assessment tools, including scoring tables, thromboelastography, and risk prediction models, in order to provide a basis for further identification of high-risk VTE patients during the perioperative period of colorectal cancer. Among them, the risk prediction model provides higher predictive accuracy in identifying high-risk patients.
