ABSTRACT: Pertussis is a highly infectious acute respiratory disease transmitted via droplets. Although the pertussis vaccine has been included in the childhood immunization program in China, the incidence of pertussis in children in China has increased after the COVID-19 pandemic, and the proportion of children with severe pertussis has increased. Therefore, this paper reviews the laboratory indicators related to severe pertussis in children, providing a reference for early prediction of severe cases through laboratory examination.
