ABSTRACT: The map Flughafenbereich Morlaix-Flugplätze und Ln Anlagen, among some WWII German military bases in Finistère (FR) studied in past publications and others not yet studied, discloses the German base Friedrich near Mont Saint-Michel de Braspart. The base is also identified as FuSAn 357 Y8, hosting a 1 x Wotan II (Y-Zweistrahlbake) system. The Rhubarb Operations—Appendix V of 20.9.41 permitted the determination of its precise position, and the study of post-WWII French air-reconnaissance images permitted the identification of many of its components. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to present the preservation state of its components and to deepen as much as possible the knowledge about this base in order to ensure that its existence and features will be known by a large public of interested people. It is hoped that this article can form the basis for further studies on Y8 and that it could promote a more certain legal status and cultural recovery of its site.
