ABSTRACT: Background: 30% of chondrosarcomas develop in the pelvis making it the most common malignant bone tumor in this location. Unlike other locations, it has a less favorable functional and survival outcome. Aim: Describing the importance of multidisciplinary management and the complexity of the procedures required for a successful outcome. Case Presentation: A 32-year-old male with a pelvic chondrosarcoma measuring 25 × 30 cm in the iliac bone region with extension to the soft tissues of the lumbar region treated by a type I internal hemipelvectomy as a limb-sparing surgery. Conclusion: Pelvic chondrosarcoma presents less favorable oncological and functional outcomes due to the complexity of its surgical treatment and the lack of useful adjuvant treatments to reduce the risk of recurrence and/or disease progression.
