  ABSTRACT: Cytochrome P450 (CYP450) is a family of heme proteins capable of self-oxidation and is a type of monooxygenase. It was first discovered in the microsomes of liver cells and is distributed throughout various tissues and organs in the body, primarily localized on the inner membranes of the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria. CYP450 is involved in the metabolism of various endogenous and exogenous carcinogens and plays a significant role in the metabolism of numerous anticancer drugs and the development of tumors such as lung cancer, thyroid cancer, colorectal cancer, and breast cancer. Therefore, the development of CYP450-related anticancer targeted drugs and their expression in tumors have become a hot topic. This review aims to focus on the progress and clinical translation challenges of CYP450 in tumors.
