ABSTRACT: The article considers the specifics and new methods of decarbonization of the oil and gas industry. The methods are presented in two key groups—operational and intra-corporate. The methods are compared and their peculiarities are evaluated. Practical examples of implementation of these methods based on the experience of foreign and Russian oil and gas companies. A special emphasis is made on a new financial model of decarbonization of oil and gas companies’ business, called “Satellite”, which makes it possible not to divert the main cash flow of the company from the key business, but at the same time continue to finance green projects that have a positive effect on reducing the carbon footprint of the enterprise and its products.
