  ABSTRACT: The present study aimed to explore the impact of the current lack of literature on corporate social responsibility in small businesses in Puerto Rico. The theoretical framework was based on stakeholder theory; furthermore, the methodology adhered to a quantitative paradigm with a descriptive scope. The population consisted of 1680 registered small businesses on the Island according to the Commerce and Export Company. The final sample included 100 small business owners, selected through non-probability sampling for the convenience of the researcher. A Likert-type questionnaire was designed, consisting of three sections, which allowed for the recording of participants’ profiles, perceptions, and demographic data. The results confirmed that the lack of studies on corporate social responsibility does not significantly impact the implementation of corporate social responsibility actions among their employees and clients; however, it does affect the community in which they reside.
