  ABSTRACT: The restoration of degraded dunes is a major challenge in Niger, and considerable efforts are being made to achieve this. This manuscript investigates the germination and growth of Cenchrus biflorus in degraded dune soils of southeastern Niger, with a focus on how different levels of degradation and topographical variations affect plant development. The study uses a well-structured experimental design to assess factors such as dune type, degradation level, and topographical position, analyzing their effects on root length, biomass, and overall plant growth. The results suggest that degradation level and topographical position significantly influence the growth of C. biflorus, providing insights for ecological restoration in desertified areas.
