  ABSTRACT: This study adopts a mixed-methods approach, utilizing the Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory (SLWAI) and the Causes of Writing Anxiety Inventory (CWAI), to systematically examine the level of English writing anxiety, its sources, and pedagogical implications among 127 undergraduate students majoring in English at the School of Foreign Languages, Qinghai Normal University. Data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews and analyzed statistically using SPSS software. The results indicate that undergraduate students majoring in English generally experience moderate levels of English writing anxiety, with primary triggers including fear of receiving negative comments from teachers and a lack of confidence in their English writing abilities. Based on these findings, the study proposes intervention measures that teachers can adopt to help students effectively overcome English writing anxiety and enhance their writing skills and confidence.
