ABSTRACT: This study aims to explore the socio-cultural realities, prejudices and stereotypes that frequently weigh on the field of Plastic Arts, the role and positive impact of visual artists in Ivory Coast for education, science, and the development of the cultural, artistic and economic industry. Although it has been present for centuries and academically confirmed several decades, art, particularly Plastic Arts, still evokes mixed feelings in Ivorian society between appreciation for its aesthetics on the one hand, and rejection of its controversial practice on the other. Thus, in view of all of the above, it is clear that the phenomenon of Plastic Arts in Ivory Coast is constantly reinventing itself and that it is no longer limited to a simple function of aesthetic expression but rather a discipline that significantly embodies the moral, educational, scientific, socio-cultural, economic and historical values of the country.
