ABSTRACT: In the context of the new era, cultivating youth students to form a correct labor concept is not only related to the effectiveness of implementing “fostering virtue through education” in colleges and universities, but also related to the process of Chinese modernization. As one of the “five -dimension education”, “labor education” plays an irreplaceable role in helping contemporary youth students form a correct labor concept. Overall, schools today show a good development trend in cultivating the labor concept of youth students, but there are also some difficulties in the process. This article studies the cultivation of young students’ labor concepts under the background of the “Five Educations” in the new era. It reveals the challenges faced in cultivating correct labor values, such as cognitive biases, the lack of family education and insufficient labor education resources. And it also puts forward practical solutions, including carrying forward traditional virtues, strengthening family education and integrating diversified courses, which endows a new practical path for further effectively solving the dilemma in cultivating the labor concepts of today’s young students.
