ABSTRACT: The great German poet, thinker, and distinguished aesthetic theorist Schiller pointed out in his most important aesthetic work “Letters on Aesthetic Education” that human nature can be transformed and elevated through aesthetic education. The transformation of eras and societies can be achieved through the means of artistic beauty, rather than violent revolutions. This article will analyze Schiller’s thoughts on aesthetic education, thereby discovering the artistic value of beauty, understanding the role of aesthetic education, and subsequently drawing insights for contemporary social development.
