ABSTRACT: By examining a variety of statistics that have been gathered, this study sheds light on the issue of the culture of violence and mass shootings in America. The findings are based on the investigation conducted to uncover the reasons that explain the prevalence of mass shootings in the U.S. compared to other industrialized or developed nations. This research paper brings light to two of the biggest questions involving gun violence and mass shootings. First, what is considered a mass shooting, and, most importantly, how can mass shootings be prevented? The research conducted for the purpose of this paper provided the answer to both of those questions and what people believe to be the main causes of mass shootings and gun violence.
