ABSTRACT: These days, Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and technologies are widely employed in the education sector and used by students as part of their learning process. To achieve the desired learning outcomes, AI is being objectively integrated into educational systems to improve the teaching and learning processes for both teachers and students. However, it could lower students’ enthusiasm and their learning experiences for studying. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between challenges faced by students in higher education on using AI against their learning experiences. Three objectives have been stated for this research- 1) To identify challenges faced by students in UNITAR International University when using AI applications; 2) To identify UNITAR International University students’ learning experiences on using AI applications and 3) To identify the relationship of challenges faced by students in UNITAR International University on using AI applications to their learning experiences. Respondent data for this research was collected quantitatively via an online survey form approach (Google Form). Respondents for this study included 150 students from UNITAR International University in Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Additionally, this research focuses on four challenges which are privacy & data security, ethical considerations, over-reliance on AI and lack of understanding and awareness. The findings of the research have shown that there is a significant relationship between challenges (privacy & security, ethical considerations, over-reliance on AI and lack of awareness and understanding) faced by students in UNITAR International University on using AI applications to their learning experiences.
