ABSTRACT: In the context of the Asian Games, this paper discusses the similarities and differences of linguistic landscape in Shaoxing City and Ningbo City in the aspects of the construction and cultural expression, and its social significance from the comparative perspective. The investigation finds that the linguistic landscape in Shaoxing emphasizes the historical and cultural elements, highlighting the integration of traditional culture and modern sports, while the linguistic landscape in Ningbo is more modernized and international, combining economic development with modern sports. This article provides a multidimensional analysis of the linguistic landscape in the two Asian Games co-hosting cities, Shaoxing and Ningbo, in order to provide reference for the construction and enhancement of city images.
