ABSTRACT: Soil samples were
collected from the base of Aplectrum hymale individuals to assess mycorrhizal spores
abundance. The hypothesis that mycorrhizal spore abundance would increase with
proximity to the plant was not supported; however, spores increased significantly
with distance from the Aplectrum hymale plants up to one meter.
