  ABSTRACT: The FIFA World Cups is one of the premier global sporting competitions in the world. Consumer culture and neoliberalism have played an important role of the global popularity of the tournament. A qualitative research method was used in this study to identify who benefits most and least from this globalised football competition under the perspective of consumer culture and neoliberalism. This paper also critically discusses the impact of consumer culture and neoliberalism on the FIFA World Cups today.
