ABSTRACT: The Philippine Development Plan enables the
government to come up with a shared vision of where the country should be in
the future and a concerted program of action to achieve this vision
guaranteeing that government resources are channeled to tangible programs,
projects, and activities that best achieve the country’s goals and objectives. The
main objective of this study is to determine how the status of health-related
programs under the Philippine Development Plan is perceived by people in the
community, especially before and after its implementation. Findings revealed
three significant changes in the health-related programs under Philippine
Development Plan Implementation. First, public affairs promote transparency in
the municipality by presenting the accomplishment of each division in the Local
Government Unit as a part of good public affairs practices. Second, more health
projects were implemented and achieved; these are the established functional
ESU and a decreased stunting prevalence rate) by being responsive to the needs
of its citizens and increasing their awareness to establish their relationship
with the general public. Lastly is compliance with the plan, as many
health-related programs were implemented and achieved in line with the
objectives of the Philippine Development Plan in the municipality. With these
findings, the researcher recommends that integrity in all government offices
and staff must always be maintained, as this affects the overall effectiveness
of governance and could erode public trust in a split second.
