ABSTRACT: Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a form of stress cardiomyopathy which is reversible. It can clinically mimic an ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. We present a case of a 63 year old female, who was diagnosed with takotsubo cardiomyopathy in the immediate postoperative period, following microwave ablation for a metastatic liver lesion. Despite takotsubo cardiomyopathy only accounting for a small percentage of acute coronary syndrome presentations, it is still an important differential to be considered when dealing with acute cardiac events, as the subsequent management is different as compared to the other more often encountered forms of acute cardiac events.
