ABSTRACT: This project presents a comparative study of the mechanical properties of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). The specimens per ASTM D638 type IV were fabricated by injection molding, compression molding, and 3D printing. ABS is recommended for the precision machining of ABS structural parts. ABS has a good balance of impact, heat, chemical resistance, dimensional stability, tensile strength, and surface hardness. ABS pallets from one batch are used in compression molding, injection molding, and filament extrusion for 3D printing. The compression molding process parameters are optimized to obtain high mechanical properties of ABS specimens. After building models in the preceding three processes, samples were evaluated using a Universal Tensile Machine (UTM). Then, using the UTM machine, Young’s modulus (GPa), yield strength, and strain were calculated at the various test speeds (mm/min). The later obtained results were calculated in conjunction with previous studies and results.
