ABSTRACT: The article deals with the legal regime of mixed ownership companies in Brazil. After the historical analysis of the adoption of this model of state-owned enterprise, the current legal regime under the Brazilian Constitution of 1988 is analysed with all its specificities. The main discussion revolves around the role of the mixed ownership company as one of the main instruments of State action in the economy.
