ABSTRACT: The protection of traditional villages is currently a hot topic of research, and the evaluation of traditional villages is the basic research content of village protection. Its research is conducive to promoting the protection of traditional villages. Through CNKI retrieval tool, 309 articles related to traditional village evaluation were retrieved, and the development trend of research related to traditional village evaluation was studied using CiteSpace data visualization method. The research shows that: 1) factors such as traditional village evaluation research and relevant policy release, regional economic situation, and the number of colleges and universities are normal distribution. 2) Scholars related to traditional village evaluation research have strong “geographical” and “academic” connections, and weak connections between institutions and disciplines. 3) Traditional village evaluation research increases the perception of the main factor evaluation of the village from the initial evaluation of the village itself. 4) The research content of traditional village evaluation is highly repetitive, lacks certain innovation and adapts to local conditions, and there is a significant gap in research between regions. 5) The research method combines qualitative and quantitative methods. 6) The research and evaluation of villages mainly focus on the evaluation of two types of villages: utilization and protection. Utilization villages often develop tourism, and the evaluation indicators mainly combine natural resources with human resources.
