  ABSTRACT: The volume of an internal migration is affected by the gaps of pull and push factors between the places of origin and destination. However, the proportion of internal migration due to the family reasons could be large, which is less affected by pull and push factors. This paper studies the non-family-reason internal migration (NFIM) and shows that the non-family-reason internal migration population has different characteristics from the other population and internal migrants.
